Hope For Tomorrow (excerpt from book, What to Do When You Don’t Know What To Do by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend.) God will make a way for you if you call on him. But here is where things sometimes get difficult. Most people cannot see God’s way for them because they have difficulty believing there is a way. They fail to believe a way exists out of their particular trial or tragedy in life. Well, there is good news. We believe that you can find your way through life when you exercise your faith in God by following eight principles. 1. Decide to begin a journey with God. 2. Decide to carefully chose your journey buddies. You are the company you keep. 3. Decide to place a high value on wisdom. Where you get that wisdom should be based on professionals or people known to be wise and truthful. 4. Decide to leave your baggage behind. After resolving negative feelings and issues move foreword--staying in the past can bring out negative, unforgiving, and even revenge type thinking. 5. Decide your own faults and weaknesses. Don’t be to eager to play the blame game. And remember people who live responsibly get wounded--that’s unfortunate, but that’s life. 6. Decide to embrace problems as gifts. Some people hit a problem and stop dead in their tracks & that’s where they stay. Learn to ask yourself “what did I learn from this experience?” and “what can I do with this information or knowledge to help myself and others? 7. Decide to take life as it comes. When your in a bad situation don’t pull away from others, but move closer to others for knowledge. 8.Decide to Learn to Love God despite whatever comes your way. It’s easier to blame God but gets you no where but mad. Just as you would exercise faith in a doctor by following his/her prescription to get well physical, you can get well emotionally & spiritually by following God’s instructions. God is looking for you. Join the journey in finding difficult times turning to self discovery and resolution. Enjoy God & life…today & tomorrow. (end)
