Hope For Tomorrow First, I encourage you to take a moment to breath deep, clear your mind of the struggles of the day and sit or recline in a physically comfortable manner. Sometimes just getting still for 10-15 minutes can help you receive what God has for you and allows you to listen, if you choose, to what God has to say. Through Biblical passages we find that God wants to unleash strength and power to you for your life in a way you never thought of. Job 11.13 says, “…If you set your heart aright, you will stretch out your hand toward Him. If iniquity is in your heart or hand, put it far away.” The reality is that our Father in heaven is continually calling us to get excited and joyous about our life WITH Him…and He is calling us to let go of things that are in the way of that. Everyday we are bombarded with things that seek to hinder us from fulfilling God’s plan for our success for that day. It might be in the way of fear, anger, loneliness, self-pity, addictions, finances, health, pro-crastinate, worry, dread, lack of support, job/goal un-fulfillment, depression, or even laziness. Regardless the reason or excuse, we will not achieve success for the day if we do not CHOOSE TO LET GO of the past--whether the past is 1 minute ago, 2 years ago, 10 years ago or even 25 years ago. CHOOSE to let go of the past and ALLOW God to help you break free from the road blocks of the day. Joel 2:12 says, “…turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart…(until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored).” God Has a specific, special plan for your life today…But so does the enemy, whether in our mind or in our life. The path you choose to follow is up to you so choose wisely…and with fore thought …Don’t make snap, whimsical or neglectful decisions. Proverbs 21:20 says, ....slow steady plodding leads to prosperity, but hasty speculation/decisions bring poverty. If you are an impetuous (outspoken), frank spontaneous person this may be your habit to overcome. Do you give or get mixed messages …the enemy or opposite of God’s clarity is the enemy’s confusion, bondage or hopelessness. Sometimes life will throw us a “curve ball from left field” or something we aren’t expecting…apply a life principle: the enemy (opposite of God’s clarity) is confusion, bondage, or hopelessness. 2 Corithians7.11 says, “…for you can look back now & observe what it has done & produced for you and in you in the past…” Each moment, every day you must remind yourself to apologize for your short-comings and mistakes. Every day, every minute you must remind yourself that when asked, God will forgive you and you must in turn, allow yourself to forgive the past…at times this could be hard and if you are a perfectionist or like things done a certain way it is ok that you ease up on yourself and others…no one is perfect. You should not expect that of yourself and others. It is not spiritual to tell yourself over and over the horrible thing that happened. God heard your confession the first time and does not need it repeated over and over. To remind yourself over and over of the wrong you or someone did to you will only lead to self-pity and depression…a downward spiral going down which could lead to anger, with-drawl, and at the bottom of the spiral is suicidal thoughts. Not God’s plan for a good life. You make the choice: Forgive or Not to Forgive …That IS the question with results that reflect your choice. Embrace the decision making process! God gives you choices, so chose to forgive yourself and others then go on with the day. Now you will have more time with God and not spending time thinking on past problems and insults. Slow down…relax…take a deep breath. Now enjoy life moment to moment. Further Reading Matthew 5 ! (end)
