Words to Ponder by November By Rev. Jim

Life comes at us so fast; it can be overwhelming at times & we miss the opportunity to stop and give proper thanks.
Fortunately, November always provides a wonderful reminder to remember and to be thankful.
There are so many difficult things to confuse and dishearten us, whether it be our own health concerns or ugly world events which keep us from getting to our knees and doing what we know is right (and we know we need).
Recall it was President Abraham Lincoln who decreed that the forth Thursday in November should be set aside each year as a day for fasting, prayer, and giving thanks to God.
Lincoln did this in 1863, when we were in the midst of a terrible Civil War that was costing hundreds of thousands of lives. Yet he called us all to Thanksgiving.
No matter where we are, or the circumstance, let us indeed give thanks. ##
