Research & Statistics in NIDRR--
Information on research and statistics from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research.
Disability Statistics Center--A Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) primarily funded by NIDRR--The purpose of the Disability Statistics Center is to produce & disseminate statistical information on disability & the status of people with disabilities in American society & to establish & monitor indicators about how conditions are changing over time to meet their health, housing, economic & social needs. The center produces statistics and research reports, which are available at the center's Web site, http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/edi/disabilitystatistics/.
In
ter-agency Subcommittee on Disability Statistics (ISDS)--The ISDS is an information sharing & networking agent in order to build a more systematic & cohesive Federal effort. The ISDS's networking function identifies persons nationally & internationally to: participate on survey instrument development, review, & analyses; serve on expert panels; & to recruit persons for job openings. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) DatabaseThe TBI Model Systems are funded through the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). These research and demonstration grants focus primarily on:
1. Developing & demonstrating a model system of care for persons with TBI, stressing continuity & comprehensiveness of care; and
2. maintaining a standardized national database for innovative analyses of TBI treatment & outcomes.
