Welcome--This is the monthly newsletter for the Kokomo Brain Injury Association of Indiana located at Howard Regional Health System Facility. Persons with brain injury, family, and interested persons are invited to attend the monthly meeting held every 3rd Monday of every month at 7:00PM in the cafeteria of Regional Health Systems located at 829 North Dixon Road, Kokomo, Indiana. The monthly meeting provides snacks, coffee/drinks, as well as an opportunity to listen or talk with persons with brain injury. This is a great time for family friends, care-givers, or co-workers to talk, learn & share with others of their needs and desires as they travel through life with a brain injury person or persons. Guest speakers provide information relating to brain injury needs & the needs of the support system/significant others. Care givers can take this opportunity to discuss ideas that provide care and encouragement to each person with brain injury. This is a time to establish a unique friendship that can last years or even a lifetime. Attire is casual. All family is encouraged to attend. The Kokomo Brain Injury Associations is one of the many Brain Injury groups found throughout the state of Indiana, as well as throughout the United States. You can find these support groups through rehab centers, state government, doctors, accredited physical therapists or social workers and of course through accredited nurses (always a great source of information and assistance). The State of Indiana has a wonderful Brain Injury Association office in Indianapolis near downtown and a web site (Lindsay.meyer@biai.org) which provides information in the way of verbal or audio communication and support. For more information on the facility and its goals please contact: Lindsay Meyer 317-356-7722 or 1-866-854-4246 (toll free); Fax Number (317) 808-7770; email address: info@biai.org;web. Please join with us each month as we tackle life through the eyes of a person with brain injury and the life that surrounds each person. (end)
