North Central Brain Injury Support Group Minutes 3-19-07

By Russ Ragland There were 11 people and one seeing-eye dog present at the March 2007, Monday meeting. The meeting opened at 7:03 P.M. with a prayer from co-chair person, Sue Ragland, because Rev. Jim Tucker was not able to give the blessing. Russ then introduced the speaker for the evening: Bonnie Weaver from Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services (IPAS) who then introduced her husband and driver, Wayne, as well as seeing eye dog, Leah. Bonnie, from the IPAS office in Indianapolis, IN, spoke about the special programs available for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivors. The state organization has a number of programs for the protection of those who have suffered from a TBI. Bonnie left some brochures that explained in detail for anyone interested in pursuing these programs. The toll free number is 1-800-622-4845, for anyone interested in serious feedback or contact IPAS via the internet at: www.in.gov/ipas/ Peggy & John Poremen also stopped by to say good bye & to thank us for the great 50th anniversary party, before they headed back to Colorado. They also left us with the message from Mark & Vicki that they were going to try to arrive sometime around the 16th of April. (I guess the group will have another big party!!!) The meeting ended about 7:45, and the next meeting will be on April 16th. ##
