Hope For Tomorrow In today’s world it is easy to become misguided by what we should be doing & what we are doing. Sometimes we can become so overwhelmed we don’t know where to turn, yet sometimes it seems as though there is no one to turn to. Frustration, sadness or fatigue comes & goes. Psalms 6.6- “I am weary with my groaning; all night I soak my pillow with tears, I drench my couch with my weeping.” Proverbs 12:25- “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad.” It is at times like this, that some people feel the last thing they want to hear about is God…yet for many others who have found by experience…this is the best time to turn to God. God wants…no…he desires…desires to have a close relationship with each & everyone of us. While God is a judge who holds us closely accountable for our actions, God is also wonderfully compassionate beyond our imagination. God is great enough to be both. Deuteronomy 7.8 &13- “Behold, the Lord our God has shown us His glory & His greatness & we have heard His voice out of the midst of the fire; we have this day seen that God speaks with man …” Psalms 66.16- “Come & hear, all you who reverently & worshipfully fear God & I will declare what He has done for me.” The same God that held Adam close to Him is the same God who wants to hold us close to Him if we only let Him. This should be comforting to each & everyone of us. A comfort during times we feel lonely, tread upon or simply worn out. Malachi 1.2- “I have loved you, says the Lord, yet you say, How and in what way have you loved us?” Deuteronomy 5.29- “Go near & hear all that the Lord our God will say…the Lord our God will speak to you and we will hear & do it.” God wants to give each one of us support, guidance, direction, joy, peace, & overwhelming love. Can you believe God has all this to give? God does this even today through Scripture & the Holy spirit. 2 Timothy 3.16- “Every scripture is God breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error & discipline in obedience, (and) for training in rightful living.” 1 Samuel 16.7- “…For the Lord sees not as man see; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” God does give us joy, peace, direction & support if YOU have faith to let Him in during good times & desolate times. God wants us to enjoy each day, to look hopefully toward today & tomorrow. We must trust God that the road we are on, by His plan & guidance of us, will work out for us or someone else’s good…to a purpose we hope to see in our days or lifetime. We would love to see the big picture of life. That‘s not easy to imagine if you’re not a big picture person & even more difficult if you have the added responsibility/stress of being a caretaker. WOW! We want to fix things & make everything easier/alright. It only stands to reason that we desire to fix things. God fashioned us in His image & He fixes everything, so why can’t we fix our brain injury or fix those whose life is compounded by care-taking. It is not easy to surrender everything over to God. We must teach ourselves daily to let God guide us. Philippians 4.12-"…I know both how to be abased & I know how to abound…both to abound and to suffer need." Trust is not easy but it will be well worth our time, even if it means waiting for years till dreams come true. After all, aren’t your dreams well worth the wait? I’m sure if your dreams/goals are realistic it is well worth the wait. Take time today to spend it with God’s Word, Peace & Hope. Psalms 18.28- “…You the Lord, cause my lamp to be lighted & shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.” Proverbs 17.22- “A happy heart is good medicine & a cheerful mind works healing…” Further Reading-Psalms 25; Philippians; Music: Songs by Rich Mullins. ##
